The combination of sturdy construction thoughtful locking mechanisms incredibly mounting clamps and an ergonomic handle make for an obvious editors choice award winner. The convenient dual side access allows you to open the box from both the driver and passenger side which is a big bonus as it is not always practical to use one side of your car. The motion xt was hands down the nicest box in our review. This system is easier to use with gloves on than previous locks thule has outfitted cargo carriers with. It has a sturdy construction sleek matte black finish and simple mounting system but lost some points for not having a handle and being slightly finicky to lock. I avg about 78 mph and heard very little noise.

Although it wasn t a leader in any of our rating metrics the thule force xt xl is a great cargo box that offers above average performance. Hope this helps those thinking about purchasing a cargo box.
