Grouting may seem scary but it doesn t need to be. One key to success is to remember that grout has a limited working time and can dry before you know it. Grouting is not difficult to do well but it is even easier to do poorly. Grout it may not command the same attention as your tile but your grout is an important part of the installation process that affects the overall look.

Doing a proper grout job will ensure that the floor under the tile stays safe from moisture. Grouting is the final step of installing ceramic wall tile after the tile adhesive has fully cured. Install only a few tiles at a time spreading adhesive for two or three tiles. Spread the material in sweeping arcs pressing it into the joints to fill them completely.

After tile is installed the next step is grouting the gaps between tiles. Work in a small area at a time roughly a 3 x 3 foot section. The process that i use will allow you to get the perfect finish on your tiles. The color of grout you choose can play into your design in different ways.

Place spacers between the tiles to establish the grout lines.
